There was a clear winner this year streets ahead of anybody else. It needed to be big to beat PBL and MS’s blunder but REA smashed it leaving daylight between it and second place.

What was most disappointing was the contempt of trying to cover it up… till it got busted wide open… funny that :)

And I thought for sure I was going to be on their xmas card list this year!!!!

I agree with your assessment of “Vanity Boards”. Why on earth do agents think that pasting their gold tooth smiles all over town is actually going to make someone want to use them? It makes me want to spew.

George Bush – Well he will do like all before him and be the leader he should have been as an ex President who cares.

Kim Jong Il – North Korean Real Estate seems pretty cheap.

Hannibal Lecter – He just bit off a little more than he could chew.

I don’t think its about leaving Domain or REA, I think it is about taking control of your own destiny. Some good solid competition would be good also.

Brilliant assessment! Can’t disagree with your choices and REA are deserved winners. Loved the mention of the peak industry body as they saw if bulls*&^ was music – REA would be a brass band.

Peter – that’s a very comprehensive list, but you missed George Bush, Kim Jong Il, Hannibal Lecter, Skeletor, Satan and my mother-in-law. Kidding. My mother-in-law has no interest in real estate.

But seriously – you’ve got lots of winners on the list, but let’s talk about some of the losers…

In my view it’s the agents who are complacent enough to keep shovelling money into the REA and print media coffers without thinking about how NOT to get shafted next year.

The big guns will keep running business as usual until they can’t.
