MyHome – sorta, kinda launched!

2 minute read

My HomeWell myhome.com.au has a sort of welcome page up. It must be the month of copying as realestate.com.au launched ‘REALabs’ a poor cousin to the famous Google Labs and now we have myhome with a simply amazing offer that kind of copies realestate.com.au’s myhomesucks campaign!

There are over 350 prizes to be won and all you need to do is enter your email address and tell them why you love your home!

Over 350 prizes? Geez, I have to know more. What prizes would be on offer from one of the wealthiest companies in Australia? A new home? A car? Maybe plasma TV’s, a dinner with Eddie?

Nope……….
If you enter you can win one of over 350 prizes that total a value of no more than $5000 and you can only choose from PBL owned magazines. Now, I have a calculator and that comes to $14.30 per prize, and I have read some of these magazines and they are terribly over priced!

In Context:
I have a company that turns over a tiny little bit less than the billions of dollars PBL go through. Last year I ran a competition on one of my sites to win $10,000 worth of Audio Visual Equipment from Harvey Norman (thank you Gerry) and had 3 prize winners for simply signing up to property alerts and also spent $20,000 on a TV campaign (got a 5% spike in visitor numbers)
Now I do hope winners do not have to pay for postage and handling!

Heh – just came from myhome.com.au site (found your on a backlink search) – I gotta agree with you. That has to be the all-time lamest competition I’ve ever seen in my life! I had to re-read the ‘prize’ text on the site I thought I was seeing things. What sort of clown would bother entering that??

Atleast someone else thinks likewise and I’m not going mad.
